CALLING ALL SCHOOL LEADERS! I see you. We have been inventing, investing, reinventing over and over for the last 18 months. It is easy feel fatigued from our courageous crisis leadership. This summer is the time to rest, reflect and reignite as we prepare to roll up our sleeve and continue changing lives this fall. Here are five books on my shelf this summer: Think, Lead, Disrupt: How Innovative Minds Connect Strategy to Execution: Peter B. Nichol In Think, Lead, Disrupt, the author provides keen insight into the minds of successful disruptive leaders and executives. Through his experiences as CIO, Nichols notes how influential leaders and companies evolve and transform ideas, values and beliefs. In reading this text you'll learn and be inspired how to generate innovative ideas and strategies for your organization to disrupt, inspire and lead in the 21st century!

Row the Boat: Jon Gordon & P.J. Fleck This book is for leaders, coaches, athletes, students and everyone in between! In my house we actually had to buy two copies because my football coach husband and I were both so excited to get our hands on this new book! Head Football Coach P.J. Fleck and bestselling author Jon Gordon join forces to bring an inspiring philosophy to light about facing adversity and challenging circumstances. Coach Fleck has used this transformative approach to inspire, lead and win in football programs across the country. Find out how to use your boat, your oar, and your compass to lead and succeed in sports, work and life through this inspiring message! Stop Leading, Start Building: Robyn R. Jackson The philosophy of leadership shared throughout this book takes a new approach school improvement! In this book, the author uses her Buildership Model™ to reimagine the "school improvement hamster wheel" and create new positive outcomes through tapping into your most valuable and readily available resource.....PEOPLE! Jackson highlights a strategy of Purpose, People, Pathway and Plan in this text focused on transforming leadership as buildership. This text recommended to me by a colleague, is a must read and will resonated many practical leadership lessons with you! Kids Deserve It! Pushing Boundaries and Challenging Conventional Thinking: Todd Nesloney & Adam Welcome While written back in 2016 this can't put down book still has a resounding message today! Nesloney & Welcome highlight throughout the book how all of those 'what if....' ideas can become a reality for kids. These authors are inspiring with their limitless thinking and practical application how to transform schools and the lives of others. I often re-read the Chapter 'Alien Look' to remind myself to keep fighting for students with new and innovative ideas that may be out of the comfort zone of others. Whether you are a teacher, principal or district leader this book will inspire you! Teacher Fuel: It Is Time to Relight and Refuel Your Fire: Mike Franklin From one of my favorite authors and friends, Mike Franklin delivers a second high energy and inspiring installation for teachers and leaders! In this book you learn from a former district teacher of the year, state championship coach, inspiring teacher and mentor to many how to regain your fuel and inspire those around you! Do you need inspiration or are looking to light your fire for yourself or your staff for the upcoming school year? If so, Teacher Fuel is a must read this summer! Happy reading! Megan
